Shinjuku Gray.

These two shots looked good out of the camera, but they just screamed, “Grayscale!” when I took them. So here you are. I’ve been itching to do more black and white stuff again lately, so plan on seeing more soon. ;)

Shinjuku Gray

Shinjuku.

After work, I had to run to Shinjuku to get something, so I took a few pictures while I walked around. (Here are eleven.) The last one is actually not Shinjuku. I was on the train at Asagaya Station, and I took it on the train, while the door was open. As usual, nothing special–just things that caught my eye.

Born to be Wild

On Saturday, I went to Mitaka, an area just a couple stops away by train. I have always liked this tree and house:

Giant Bonsai?

On the way back, near Ogikubo Station (my nearest station), I took a few other shots. You can see the rest of them if you click the link below.

Shots Before and After Work: June 25, 2009

Yesterday, I posted the Giraffe picture in the previous post. Here are some more pictures I took at Hagiyama Station (on the way to work), and at Tachikawa Station (on the way back).

Nothing special. Just a few shots I took while I was walking around.

Giraffe in Tachikawa

Yesterday, I had some free time after my class, so I stopped off in Tachikawa, and walked through a shopping mall. I walked through a music shop and a book shop, and I also walked around outside. I found this cool giraffe not too far from the station. In and around Tachikawa Station, which is in the western area of Tokyo, there are a lot of statues and modern art pieces around. This is just one of them.

Happy Father’s Day

To my Dad, (and all Dads). Thanks for all the sacrifices you have made. I learn more and more every day just how hard being a man is.

Miso Eggplant Donburi

I made this the other day. I didn’t have the ingredients I wanted, so I experimented. It wasn’t too bad!

There are many kinds of donburi in Japan. Donburi is basically a bowl of rice with something over it. It just occurred to me that there might be a Wikipedia article on donburi, and sure enough, there is!

Shinbashi

I added a few pictures that I took in Shinbashi (Tokyo), on January 16, 2009). I made a new flickr set called Shinbashi. It only has 8 pictures now, but I am sure I have taken more pictures in Shinbashi in the past. I will have to see if I can find them.

Shinbashi is not an area I go to every day, but I do sometimes transfer there. I had a job there that day, so I just took a few pictures on the way back to the station.

Looking Out the Window of my Hotel Room.

This picture is very simple. I don’t know why, but I really like it. I took this from my hotel room when I was stuck overnight in Detroit, on the way back to Tokyo. (January 8, 2009).

Yes, I am way behind, but the good news is that I now have internet at home, and a computer again. So I will be catching back up. Look for lots of pics from the past several months…

Suzukake Dori

I took this on Saturday afternoon, near Mitaka Station. Nothing special, but I like how it turned out. There aren’t many street signs in Tokyo, by the way, so taking a picture of one is not as crazy as it might seem! ;)
