Three Years…

Three Years.

三年間。

三个年。

Trés Años.

Hreetay Earsyay. (Pig Latin was my first foreign language, after all!)

Today, September 5th, is my 3-year anniversary in Japan. I am feeling a bit nostalgic. I have a lot I would like to say, but I am tired. So I will write about this more later.

By the way, I’ve uploaded a ton of pictures, but I haven’t got most of them all tagged and sorted into sets yet. You can view them on this site, by clicking on the “photos” page (”Recent Photos”), or you can look at them on my Flickr homepage, which I highly recommend. It’s under heavy construction, so keep checking back!

P.S.: My last post was in Japanese. I don’t know why. I don’t expect too many people to read it. I guess it was just for me, for fun. Maybe it seems strange (or self-indulgent) to use Chinese and Japanese on my website and with my pictures, but it is a big part of who I am, and what I am interested in. I think even if you can’t understand them, characters are beautiful. And if you can understand them, you KNOW they are incredible. They hold thousands of years of culture, knowledge and tradition in each stroke. (Besides, it’s my website, so there!) :P

Anyway, in my last post, I just said that I have been in Japan for three years, and I have basically gotten used to living here, but there are still some things that I am not used to. Unfortunately, I still can’t speak Japanese very well, and I don’t really understand Japanese culture and the Japanese way of thinking. I need to study harder and keep learning.

There is so much to learn, and so little time! At least I am not bored!!!
