The Mountains Were Out!
On Friday, I went to my college in Saitama Prefecture. I was really glad to see the mountains from the train on the way up there. I didn’t take any pictures on the train, because I was sitting down, and there too many people standing by the door. (When I take pictures on the train, it is usually when I am standing by one of the doors.) But it was very beautiful.
I took these pictures from my college after my first class. It was already around noon, so they were not as visible as they had been a couple hours before.
It’s harder to see them in the summer, but on a clear winter day, you can sometimes get a good view of the mountain near Tokyo (including Mt. Fuji.) Last year, I had a great view of Mt. Fuji from my classroom.
In Seattle, when the weather is clear and you can see the mountains, people say, “The mountains are out!” I expect that towards the end of this year, the mountains will be out, and i will once again have a good view of Fuji.
And this time, I will have a camera with me to take a picture.
