Still a Gimp

Since August, I have been using crutches. It all started with a case of achilles tendinitis, which made walking really hard. But Tokyo is not the kind of city where you can just “not walk,” so I had to get some crutches to help me get around. I have already written about how I hurt my back and how that led to a series of complications…

It turns out that I have bursitis in my ankle, which caused the tendon pain. My plantar arches in my feet are falling. So I got orthotic insoles to wear in my shoes. It takes time, but they seem to be helping…FINALLY! I have much less pain.

As my leg gets better, I am looking forward to increasing my activity level and also going on more photo shoots around Tokyo. I have also been DYING to get OUT OF TOKYO for months! (When you live in Tokyo, it can get to be a bit overwhelming…so sometimes, you need to at least take a day trip to the mountains or somewhere quiet, to get in touch with nature. I haven’t been able to do that…)

As I may have mentioned before, the last few months have really rekindled my interested in health and fitness, which I had been neglecting for quite some time. Sometimes, good things come out of “bad luck.”

Taking pictures and travelling, or even blogging for that matter, have had to take a back seat to taking care of my health. But I am looking forward to sharing more news and pics soon.
