My First Shiatsu Treatment

One of the students in one of my senior classes is a master of Shiatsu, the Japanese style of acupressure massage. Last Monday, I had my first treatment. It was amazing! I was having some trouble with my leg again, because it was so tight that it was cramping and making my tendon sore. But now it is great.

Like acupuncture, it is a subtle art, so you should find someone who really knows what you are doing. But if you can, it is amazing. My hip was out of place and I was as stiff as a board. But at the end, my hip and spine were in perfect alignment, and I had no tension in my body…

Chiropractors can do a lot, but if they only adjust your bones and your muscles are still tight, your bones will quickly move out of place. But if your muscles are lose and your circulation flows properly, you can really feel the difference. I’ll be going again this week.

You know I’ve been thinking about massage in general. I got a free massage for like ten minutes. And you know they argue that it’s good for circulation and health. I may try to start working it into my life, I suppose. Is it expensive there?

Yeah, it’s one of those things I thought about doing, but never did. The only reason I did this time was because my leg was so tight and I was having trouble with it.

It does make a huge difference. It isn’t too expensive when you consider the long-term health benefits. Just find someone who is really knowledgeable and experienced.

I didn’t realize you had never tried Shiatsu. Glad you found it to be helpful.
